Description

A traditional Polish fish soup made with fresh fish, vegetables, and herbs.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g fresh fish (cod, salmon, or trout)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 2 potatoes, diced
  • 1 celery root, chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 5 peppercorns
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1.5L water or fish stock
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh dill for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large pot and sauté onions until translucent.
  2. Add carrots, celery root, and potatoes. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Pour in water or fish stock and bring to a boil.
  4. Add bay leaves and peppercorns. Simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Add fish pieces and cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and garnish with fresh dill before serving.

  • Use fresh fish for the best flavor.
  • Adjust seasoning to your preference.
