Description
A traditional Polish fish soup made with fresh fish, vegetables, and herbs.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g fresh fish (cod, salmon, or trout)
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, diced
- 1 celery root, chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 5 peppercorns
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1.5L water or fish stock
- Salt to taste
- Fresh dill for garnish
Instructions
- Melt butter in a large pot and sauté onions until translucent.
- Add carrots, celery root, and potatoes. Cook for 5 minutes.
- Pour in water or fish stock and bring to a boil.
- Add bay leaves and peppercorns. Simmer for 15 minutes.
- Add fish pieces and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Season with salt and garnish with fresh dill before serving.
Notes
- Use fresh fish for the best flavor.
- Adjust seasoning to your preference.
- Serve with crusty bread.
