Description

Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 100g sugar
  • 250ml milk
  • 250ml heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100ml rum or vodka (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. Heat milk and cream in a saucepan until warm (do not boil).
  3. Slowly pour the warm milk mixture into the egg mixture while whisking continuously.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook on low heat until thickened (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and alcohol (if using).
  6. Let cool, then strain and bottle. Store in the refrigerator.
