Description

A delicious Czech dessert with layers of tvaroh (farmer’s cheese) and apples.


Ingredients

  • 500g tvaroh (farmer’s cheese)
  • 2 large apples, peeled and grated
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 150g sugar
  • 100g butter, melted
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Mix the tvaroh, eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl.
  3. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, then mix until smooth.
  4. Stir in the grated apples.
  5. Pour the melted butter into a baking dish, then spread the batter evenly.
  6. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let it cool before cutting into slices.

Notes

  • Use fresh, firm apples for best texture.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving if desired.
