Description

A traditional Czech dessert made with creamy tvaroh (quark) and a buttery crust, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 250g tvaroh (quark)
  • 150g butter
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 100g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add softened butter and mix until crumbly.
  4. Press half of the dough into a greased baking dish.
  5. Blend tvaroh, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  6. Spread the tvaroh mixture over the dough.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough on top.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes until golden.
  9. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

  • Use full-fat tvaroh for a richer taste.
  • Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
