A traditional Romanian New Year’s Eve cake, rich in flavors and perfect for celebrations.
Ingredients

- 500g flour
- 200g sugar
- 4 eggs
- 200g butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200ml milk
- 100g walnuts, chopped
- 100g raisins
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Mix flour, sugar, and baking powder in a bowl.
- Add eggs, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix well.
- Fold in walnuts and raisins.
- Pour the batter into a greased cake pan.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- You can replace walnuts with almonds if preferred.
- Soak raisins in warm water for 10 minutes before adding them to the batter.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving for extra sweetness.
