Description

Srdiečka is a traditional Slovak dish made from pork hearts, typically stewed with onions and spices.


Ingredients

  • 500g pork hearts
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Clean the pork hearts thoroughly and cut into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in a pot and sauté onions until golden.
  3. Add pork hearts and brown them for 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in paprika, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  5. Pour in water, cover, and simmer for 45 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with bread or potatoes.
