- 2 bay leaves
- 5 black peppercorns
- 1 tsp salt
Instructions
- Clean and rinse the herring fillets.
- Layer the fillets in a glass jar with sliced onion, bay leaves, and peppercorns.
- Pour oil over the herring until fully covered.
- Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
Notes

- Store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
