A delicious Romanian dessert with a soft base and a crunchy caramel topping.
Ingredients

- 4 eggs
- 200g sugar
- 200g flour
- 100g butter
- 100g almonds
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Beat the eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Add melted butter and vanilla extract.
- Mix flour and baking powder, then fold into the batter.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Crush almonds and mix with sugar to make the topping.
- Sprinkle the topping over the baked base.
- Return to the oven for 10 minutes until golden.
- Let it cool before serving.
Notes
- Use room temperature eggs for better volume.
- Toast almonds lightly for extra flavor.
- Check the base with a toothpick before adding topping.
