Description

A traditional Polish spiced gingerbread cookie, often decorated with icing for festive occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g flour
  • 200g honey
  • 100g sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp gingerbread spice mix
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 100g butter
  • Icing sugar for decoration
  • Food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, honey, sugar, egg, spices, and baking soda in a bowl.
  2. Melt butter and add to the mixture. Knead into a dough.
  3. Refrigerate the dough for at least 2 hours.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  5. Roll out the dough and cut into desired shapes.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Let the cookies cool completely before decorating.
  8. Prepare icing by mixing icing sugar with water. Pipe designs onto the cookies.

  • Store decorated cookies in an airtight container.
  • Dough can be made ahead and kept in the fridge for up to 3 days.
