Description
Perníčky are traditional Czech gingerbread cookies, often decorated with icing. They are popular during holidays and festive occasions.
Ingredients

- 500g all-purpose flour
- 200g honey
- 150g powdered sugar
- 100g butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions
- Mix honey, sugar, and butter in a bowl until smooth.
- Add the egg and mix well.
- Combine flour, baking soda, and spices in a separate bowl.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, kneading until a dough forms.
- Wrap the dough in plastic and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Roll out the dough to about 5mm thickness and cut into desired shapes.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Let cool before decorating with icing.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container to keep cookies fresh.
- Decorate with royal icing for a festive touch.
