Description
Makowiec zawijany is a traditional Polish poppy seed roll, often served during holidays and special occasions. It features a sweet yeast dough filled with a rich poppy seed mixture.
Ingredients

- 500g flour
- 50g sugar
- 1 packet dry yeast
- 250ml warm milk
- 1 egg
- 100g butter, melted
- 300g ground poppy seeds
- 150g honey
- 50g raisins
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, and yeast in a bowl.
- Add warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Knead until smooth.
- Let the dough rise for 1 hour.
- Combine poppy seeds, honey, raisins, and vanilla extract for the filling.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
- Spread the filling evenly over the dough.
- Roll the dough tightly into a log.
- Place on a baking sheet and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 180°C for 40 minutes.
- Cool before slicing.
