Description
Makowiec is a traditional Polish poppy seed roll. This sweet bread is filled with a rich poppy seed mixture and often enjoyed during holidays.
Ingredients

- 500g flour
- 250ml milk
- 50g sugar
- 10g dry yeast
- 100g butter
- 1 egg
- 300g ground poppy seeds
- 100g honey
- 50g raisins
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Warm milk to body temperature and dissolve yeast with a pinch of sugar.
- Mix flour, sugar, egg, and yeast mixture. Knead until smooth.
- Cover and let dough rise for 1 hour.
- Combine poppy seeds, honey, raisins, and vanilla for filling.
- Roll dough into rectangle and spread filling evenly.
- Roll tightly and place on baking sheet.
- Let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake at 180°C for 40 minutes.

- Brush with egg wash before baking
