Description

Kluski Leniwe are traditional Polish lazy dumplings made with farmer’s cheese and flour. They are soft, tender, and often served with butter, sugar, or breadcrumbs.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g farmer’s cheese (twaróg)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 tbsp butter (for serving)
  • 1 tbsp sugar or breadcrumbs (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix farmer’s cheese, egg, flour, and salt in a bowl until a soft dough forms.
  2. Roll the dough into a long rope on a floured surface.
  3. Cut the rope into small pieces (about 2cm each).
  4. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil.
  5. Drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for 2-3 minutes until they float.
  6. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
  7. Serve hot with melted butter and sugar or breadcrumbs.

Notes

  • Use dry farmer’s cheese for best results.
  • Do not overmix the dough to keep dumplings tender.
  • You can freeze uncooked dumplings for later use.
