Keresztelő torta is a traditional Hungarian baptism cake, often served at christening celebrations. It’s a light, fluffy sponge cake layered with cream and decorated simply.

- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cups whipped cream
- 1 tbsp vanilla sugar
- Fresh fruit for decoration (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
- Beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together.
- Gently fold dry ingredients into egg mixture.
- Pour batter into greased cake pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
- Let cake cool completely.
- Whip cream with vanilla sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Slice cake horizontally into two layers.
- Spread cream between layers and on top.
- Decorate with fresh fruit if desired.

- Use room temperature eggs for best results.
- Don’t overmix the batter.
