Description

Karp Pieczony is a traditional Polish dish featuring baked carp, often served during festive occasions.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 whole carp (about 2 kg), cleaned and scaled
  • 2 lemons, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 bunch fresh dill, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Rinse the carp and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Make shallow cuts on both sides of the fish.
  4. Rub the carp with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Stuff the cavity with lemon slices, garlic, and dill.
  6. Place the carp on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  7. Brush the fish with melted butter.
  8. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden and flaky.
  9. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
