Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add milk, egg, and melted butter. Stir until smooth.
  3. Heat oil in a pan to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
  5. Fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar or glaze if desired.
