Description
A traditional Romanian Christmas dessert made with layers of sweet dough and walnuts.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500g flour
- 200g sugar
- 200g butter
- 3 eggs
- 200g ground walnuts
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 100ml milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C.
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and butter in a bowl.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, knead into dough.
- Divide dough into 4 equal parts.
- Roll each part into thin sheets.
- Layer sheets with ground walnuts in between.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Cut into squares while warm.
Notes
- Let the dough rest for 30 minutes before rolling.
- Use fresh walnuts for best flavor.
- Store in an airtight container.
