Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Oil for frying
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (optional, for coating)
Instructions
- Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Add milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
- Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
- Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Roll in powdered sugar if desired.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Use a thermometer for accurate oil temperature.
- Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
- Adjust sugar to taste.
