Description

A simple and quick recipe for making fánk (Hungarian doughnuts) without yeast.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  2. Add egg, milk, and melted butter. Stir until smooth.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Drop spoonfuls of batter into the hot oil.
  5. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

  • Use a thermometer to monitor oil temperature.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
  • Serve warm for best taste.
