Description

Vosí hnízda is a traditional Czech pastry made with layers of dough and sweet filling, often served as a dessert or snack.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500g all-purpose flour
  • 200g butter
  • 100g sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 200g jam (apricot or plum)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Mix flour, butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, and salt to form a dough.
  3. Roll out the dough and cut into squares.
  4. Place a spoonful of jam in the center of each square.
  5. Fold the corners to the center, forming a nest shape.
  6. Brush with milk and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.
  7. Let cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for flakier dough.
  • Adjust sugar based on jam sweetness.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
