Description

A delicious Hungarian dessert, túrófánk is a type of doughnut filled with sweetened cottage cheese and often dusted with powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • 250g cottage cheese (túró)
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Mix cottage cheese, eggs, sugar, and vanilla sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir until smooth.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan to 170°C (340°F).
  4. Spoon small portions of the batter into the hot oil.
  5. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.

  • Do not overcrowd the pan while frying.
