Linecke kolaciky are traditional Czech shortbread cookies with a delicate texture and a subtle sweetness. They are typically made with simple ingredients, perfect for pairing with tea or coffee.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 100g powdered sugar
  • 100g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, powdered sugar, and salt.
  3. Add the softened butter, egg yolk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
  4. Knead the mixture until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Roll out the dough to about 5mm thickness and cut into desired shapes.
  6. Place the cookies on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Let them cool before serving.
