Description

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Red food coloring (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a heart-shaped cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding flour mixture and milk, mixing until smooth.
  6. Add red food coloring if desired.
  7. Pour batter into the pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Let cool before decorating.

Notes

  • Use a toothpick to check if the cake is done.
  • Let the cake cool completely before removing from the pan.
  • Decorate with frosting, sprinkles, or fresh fruit.
