Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  3. Add the rinsed rice and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Pour in water, add salt, and bring to a boil.
  5. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  6. Turn off the heat, stir in chopped basil, and let it sit covered for 5 minutes.
  7. Fluff with a fork before serving.
