Description
A simple and flavorful basil pesto sauce made with fresh basil, garlic, pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, and olive oil.
Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh basil leaves
- 1/4 cup pine nuts
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Wash and dry the basil leaves.
- Toast the pine nuts lightly in a pan.
- Combine basil, pine nuts, garlic, and Parmesan in a food processor.
- Pulse until finely chopped.
- Slowly drizzle in olive oil while blending.
- Season with salt to taste.
Notes
- Store pesto in an airtight container with a layer of olive oil on top.
- Use within 3 days for best flavor.
- Freeze leftovers in ice cube trays for later use.
