- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Mix yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, olive oil, and basil to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough, shape it into a loaf, and place it in a greased loaf pan.
- Let it rise again for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool before slicing.
