Description

A traditional French pastry served during Epiphany, shaped like a crown and filled with almond cream.


Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 100g almond flour
  • 100g sugar
  • 100g softened butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk for glazing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Mix almond flour, sugar, butter, eggs, and vanilla to make almond cream.
  3. Roll out puff pastry and cut two circles.
  4. Spread almond cream on one circle, leaving a border.
  5. Place second circle on top and seal edges.
  6. Cut lines from center outward to form crown shape.
  7. Twist each section outward to create points.
  8. Brush with egg yolk.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden.

  • Hide a small charm or bean inside before baking for tradition.
  • Serve warm for best flavor.
