Description
A classic Yule log cake, or Bûche de Noël, is a festive dessert perfect for the holidays. This recipe features a light sponge cake rolled with rich chocolate filling and decorated to resemble a log.

- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
- Beat eggs and sugar until light and fluffy. Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Fold gently.
- Spread batter evenly in the pan. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
- While warm, roll the cake with a clean towel. Let cool.
- Whip cream, chocolate chips, and vanilla until thick. Unroll cake, spread filling, and roll again.
- Chill for 1 hour. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
