Description

A festive yule log cake, traditionally served during Christmas.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 100g granulated sugar
  • 100g all-purpose flour
  • 25g cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 300ml heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  3. Sift flour, cocoa, and baking powder. Fold into the egg mixture.
  4. Spread batter evenly on the tray. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  5. Roll the warm cake with a clean towel. Let it cool.
  6. Whip cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
  7. Unroll the cake, spread cream, then roll again.
  8. Dust with cocoa before serving.

Notes

  • Work quickly when rolling to prevent cracks.
  • Chill before serving for easier slicing.
