Description
A classic French Yule log cake made with sponge cake and chocolate buttercream, rolled to resemble a log.
Ingredients

- 4 eggs
- 100g granulated sugar
- 80g all-purpose flour
- 20g cocoa powder
- 200g dark chocolate
- 150g unsalted butter
- 150g powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy. Sift in flour and cocoa powder, fold gently.
- Spread batter evenly on the baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
- Melt chocolate and butter, mix with powdered sugar and vanilla to make buttercream.
- Spread buttercream over the cake, roll tightly into a log. Chill before serving.
Notes
- Use room-temperature eggs for better volume.
- Dust with powdered sugar for a snowy effect.
- Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
