Description
A delicious French dessert featuring a rolled sponge cake with apple filling, resembling a Yule log.
Ingredients

- 4 large eggs
- 100g granulated sugar
- 100g all-purpose flour
- 2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 200ml heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Beat eggs and sugar until pale and fluffy. Fold in flour gently.
- Spread batter evenly on the baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
- While baking, sauté apples with butter, lemon juice, and cinnamon until soft.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Once cake is cooled, spread apple filling evenly over it.
- Roll the cake tightly from the shorter end. Chill for 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Use a clean kitchen towel to help roll the cake without cracking.
- Chill the bowl and whisk before whipping cream for best results.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving for a festive touch.
