Description

A classic French dessert, Buche de Noel Mousse is a light and airy chocolate mousse shaped like a Yule log. Perfect for holiday celebrations.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 4 eggs, separated
  • 50g granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 300ml heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Melt the chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water. Let cool slightly.
  2. Whisk egg yolks with sugar until pale and thick. Mix in vanilla.
  3. Fold melted chocolate into the yolk mixture.
  4. Whip heavy cream to soft peaks and fold into the chocolate mixture.
  5. Beat egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Gently fold into the mousse.
  6. Pour into a lined loaf pan and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
  7. Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
