Description
A classic French dessert, the bouchee de noel is a rolled sponge cake filled with cream and decorated to resemble a yule log.

- 4 eggs
- 100g sugar
- 100g flour
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 200ml heavy cream
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar
- 50g cocoa powder
- 50g butter
- 100g dark chocolate
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Beat eggs and sugar until fluffy.
- Fold in flour and vanilla extract.
- Pour batter onto a lined baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes.
- Whip heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Spread cream over the cooled cake and roll tightly.
- Melt butter and chocolate, then spread over the rolled cake.
- Use a fork to create bark-like texture on the chocolate.
- Chill for 2 hours before serving.
Notes
- Use room temperature eggs for best results.
- Roll the cake while still warm to prevent cracking.
- Decorate with powdered sugar for a snowy effect.
