A traditional Alsatian Christmas biscuit, perfect for festive celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 250g flour
- 125g butter
- 100g sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Mix flour, sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Add butter and egg, knead into a smooth dough.
- Roll out dough to 5mm thickness and cut into shapes.
- Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
- Cool on a wire rack before serving.

- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
- Decorate with icing or sprinkles if desired.
