Ingredients

  • 1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu for at least 20 minutes to remove excess water. Cut into cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Toss tofu cubes in cornstarch until evenly coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Add tofu and cook until golden brown on all sides.
  5. Pour the sauce over the tofu and stir until evenly coated. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with rice or vegetables.
