A cute and romantic bento cake perfect for Valentine’s Day. This small, single-serving cake is easy to make and decorate.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whipped cream
  • 2 tbsp strawberry jam
  • Heart-shaped sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Add milk, oil, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into a small greased baking pan.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Let the cake cool completely.
  7. Slice the cake horizontally into two layers.
  8. Spread strawberry jam on the bottom layer.
  9. Top with whipped cream and place the second layer.
  10. Decorate with whipped cream and heart-shaped sprinkles.
