Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 pound protein (chicken, beef, tofu, or shrimp)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a wok or large pan over high heat.
  2. Add protein and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add garlic, bell pepper, and onion. Stir-fry for 2 minutes.
  4. Return the protein to the pan.
  5. Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and black pepper. Stir well.
  6. Toss in basil leaves and cook for another 30 seconds.
  7. Serve hot with rice.
