A simple and flavorful basil hummus recipe perfect for dipping or spreading.
Ingredients

- 1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 1/4 cup tahini
- 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2–3 tbsp water (as needed)
Instructions
- Add chickpeas, tahini, basil, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper to a food processor.
- Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.
- Add water 1 tbsp at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Transfer to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil before serving.
Notes
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
- Adjust salt and lemon juice to taste.
- For extra flavor, toast the chickpeas lightly before blending.
