Description

A festive Christmas birthday cake that combines traditional birthday flavors with holiday cheer.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Red and green food coloring
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Christmas-themed decorations (sprinkles, edible glitter, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add to the creamed mixture, alternating with milk.
  5. Divide the batter into two portions. Tint one portion red and the other green.
  6. Pour each colored batter into separate cake pans. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool completely. Stack the red and green layers with whipped cream in between.
  8. Frost the entire cake with whipped cream and decorate with Christmas-themed toppings.
